NASA recently revealed that the planet Mars was more frequently hit by asteroids and comets than previously thought. Mars was hit by asteroids many as 200 times each year. The average asteroid that hit the planet measuring 1-2 meters.

As a result of the many emerging asteroid impact craters on Mars recently. Average new crater measuring 3.9 meters. NASA spacecraft Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter's High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) has found 245 new large crater in recent years. "It's very interesting because we can immediately know as soon as the crater formed," said Ingrid Daubar researchers from the University of Arizona. "It reminds us that Mars is an active planet, and we can see the process that happened today," he added.

Mars is often hit by asteroids because the Martian atmosphere is thinner than Earth.
