6.5 magnitude earthquake rattles Kebumen 25 january 2014

Earthquake with a strength of 6.5 on the Richter scale rocked Kebumen, Central Java. Olympics Meteorological Agency, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) said the quake occurred on Saturday

(01/25/2014) at around 12:14 pm.


The earthquake occurred at a depth of 48 km, 104 km Southwest Kebumen, Central Java.

Vibration earthquake in Kebumen feels to Jakarta, especially felt in tall buildings. In Liputan6.com office at 14th Floor Tower Building SCTV, lights swayed strong enough.

The shock was also felt in Cilacap, Central Java. "The shock was felt strongly for a few seconds," said Hidalgo Krisnawati Rizky, Saturday (25/01/2014). People ran out of the house.

Until this has not been known to impact damage and casualties around the epicenter.
